Soul Sunday #8

We live in an age where we can spend hours bingeing on TV box sets or surfing social media. But despite these distractions, reading is my all time favorite.

Do you read??  I love reading.

Even after a long day at work, I pick up a book depending on my mood and reading relaxes me by transporting into a different world altogether.

I am happy that I managed to read more than 20 books this year and look forward to more and more reading in the coming year.

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”

How are you planning your Sunday?? I am going to snuggle up in my bed with a cup of coffee and read 🙂

Soul Sunday #7

It’s the Thanksgiving weekend and there is never a better time to count your blessings and be thankful for what you have in life. So I thought of sharing a quote which supports the idea of expressing gratitude in daily aspects.

As all the small things that matter will always make us happy, I am thankful to God for making me smile every day.

A sincere attitude of gratitude is a beatitude for secured altitudes. Appreciate what you have been given and you will be promoted higher.”

Do you believe in expressing gratitude??

Soul Sunday #5

It is getting cold here in my area of living and as I am preparing myself for the coming months by layering into multiple woolen clothing, I am thinking of the winter break which I enjoyed during childhood.

The foggy mornings with a hot glass of milk and some healthy pinnis (laddoos) and reading some Dr. Seuss in cozy bed during the vacation are some of the cherished memories from those days.

This is a long weekend. Being at home and doing nothing is one of the pleasures which we never get amidst the hectic schedules. As I am planning to curl up in bed with a cup of ginger tea and a good book, leave away all the worries and enjoy the day.

We should do this often. What do you think??

What are you up to this weekend??

Soul Sunday #4

As we all celebrate Diwali today, I share this quote on Soul Sunday in the spirit of the festive season.

“Diwali (Lakshmi Pujan/Amavasya) is the darkest night of the year. And our ancestors have taught us to overcome darkness with light.
When the moon is not shining, neither the sun, sky is dark; India glitters. Proud of being part of such a wise and one of the finest tradition.
Diwali is practicing “तमसोमा जोतिर्गमय” . . .
Happy Diwali to all. May there belight in your life. . .”
                                     – Harihar D. Naik

How are you celebrating Diwali today??

Soul Sunday #2

Hola !

Welcome to my blog for another Soul Sunday Post, where I am going to share a mindful quote to make your Sunday more cheerful and brighter.

While many of you must be planning to go for Diwali shopping today, why don’t you make a hot cup of your favorite tea/coffee and sit back for some time alone before stepping out of your home.

Here is one of my favorite quote, which motivates me to work every day. I hope this inspires you as well.

Happy Sunday 😊

Soul Sunday

Sometimes in life it’s good to just stop what you’re doing, take a deep breath and get some perspective.
In the busy lives we lead, it’s not hard to lose perspective on the things that are important to you. However busy you are, be it at work or at home with the kids, it’s important to always make sure you take a few minutes for yourself during the day

Sunday means getting up late, lazing around with newspaper, having repeated rounds of tea/coffee, being in pajamas till afternoon, spending time with family, chalking out plans for the evening and having a relaxed time all day long.

I am starting this series of Soul Sunday, where every Sunday I will share a meaningful thought that I had come across.
I invite you to my space as you laze around, to have a me-time, as you sit down with your favorite cup of Tea or Coffee and cherish some good time with this weekly post.

Happy Sunday to all !!

Here is the thought for today:

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together” – Marilyn Monroe

Would you like to share any thought with me over tea/coffee? Let me know.please.

Until next week !
