Of Letting Go!

At somepoint in our lives, we have to let go so that we can move forward in life.

I came across such one of  life shaking incident. After completing my higher education, I wanted to pursue my dreams and with sheer hard work and determination, I got placed in one of the Big-shots of Financial Investment Firms.

Somehow, circumstances did not favor me that time and I had to let go of the opportunity in my hand. It broke me completely. The realisation of falling to the destiny was the worst part. I could not think of any good thing  happening in my life and was submerging myself into a coccon where no body could reach out. I was in a kind of depression, totally frustated and dashed.

One day, I got a call for a job offer and I declined it at the first hand. I discussed about the call with a close friend and her words jolted me.

She said, “The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.

This came as a realisation to me, I had no control over my destiny then and if I refuse to change myself and keep blaming it, I will never be able to come out of the situation. It is not that I was scared of the change but I was not ready to let go of those memories.

Sometimes we just have to let things go , the only way to grow
and transcend to new levels of happiness is by learning forgiveness. Whether, you have to let go of some material things, a lovable relationship, a bold behaviour or any unfavorable circumstances, it is always hard to let go and start all over again.

Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.

I started believing in the above statement and made a fresh start of my life (my career) and today I can proudly say that I love my job. Many a times, I have been asked why I have chosen what I am doing right now when my education qualifications do not relate, at all, to this job requirements, I happily tell them that I wanted to do this only in Life .

A Plan B life can be just as good or better than a Plan A life. You just have to let go of that first dream and realize that God has already written the first chapter of the new life that awaits you. All you have to do is start reading!

Do you let things go?

I agree. It isn’t necessary that things should happen the way you want it to. But if you are happy with the way things are, then you move forward with a lighter heart than the heavy burden of what could have been. 🙂 I am happy that you are happy with where you have reached in life. Thank you for the wisdom too.
